CORAL

The inspiration of this design comes from coral. We convert the symbiosis between coral and biological organisms into vase design and use marble to express the rich colors and texture of coral. The interlaced gathering of these numerous vases would be just like a vivid and energetic coral reef.

 

We use water jet cutting machine and laser cutting machine to slice precisely marble and metal slabs. Then we fix and assemble these slabs by metal extrusion molding parts. In this way we turn flat 2D slabs into stereoscopic 3D organic forms.

 

Integrating two materials and production processes, this is a design which challenges the production precision and creates unique vases keeping all natural characteristics of marble.
